Meghan can swim!

Since summer has started, Meghan has been in the pool practically every day. She has always been a fish in the pool, but she is now adding some style to her swim and working on mastering 'big circle arms' as we call them. Just this past week she started working on breathing properly. While this video doesn't quite show that she has mastered these skills, she is at least mostly drown proof and LOVES to play in the deep end. And remember, she is only 3. I often find myself thinking she must be older than that to do what she is doing, but she keeps me on my toes with her accomplishments. We have enjoyed these days with her and are looking forward to spending hours in the pool on our upcoming trip to Costa Rica. We're getting excited as we leave this July 4th! Can't wait! I will post more about that trip later

Wow! That's fantastic. Swimming is such an important skill. We take our kids to the pool regularly, and they love swimming. Nick, Nora, and Anna are on the swim team this year. Damian is only five, so he's too young, but next year he'll be ready. The coaches have told him he can swim with them sometimes if he'd like - even though he isn't officially on the team. He swims well for a five-year-old.

It looks like Meghan is doing very well - both in the water and out. And Nathan is getting big too! You guys are wonderful parents. I can see it in every single post, here.

I hope the blog format is easier to work with. I think it simplifies things rather nicely.

Hugs to all of you,
Varina
